Within the first decade of Scarlet and Cream’s existence, two different studio recordings were made, the first in 1975 and the second in 1980. As of this writing, these are the only known studio recordings of the Scarlet and Cream Singers, although many video and audio tapes of the group’s ‘live’ performances have been made over the last 32 years. Complete with the original cover art and album information, these two separate recordings are now combined on one compact disc, and provide an invaluable audio history of the quality sounds and styles of the Scarlet and Cream Singers.

An example of songs contained on this new CD include Walk Him Up The Stairs, Wade In The Water, Windflowers, Corner Of The Sky, The Glenn Miller Medley, This Will Be, Broadway Medley, Country Medley, The Night Is Over, and the University of Nebraska-Lincoln School Songs, just to name a few.

As of 2005, The University of Nebraska School Songs are still performed exactly as they were 30 years ago, along with the one of a kind arrangement of The Way We Were, which has been performed by every single member of the group since the ensemble’s inception. Although every effort has been made to retain the highest reproduction values of these original recording sessions, due to the aged nature of the original albums and reel-to-reel master sources, the occasional snap and crackle of the vinyl recordings may still be audible in the finished product, regardless of our technological efforts. Nonetheless, we hope you enjoy these original recordings, and remember – there really IS no place like Nebraska.
