Since 1973, reaching out to alumni, supporters and friends of the university through music, the most basic of all languages, has been the goal of the Scarlet and Cream Singers. In 2006, a five-year capital campaign was launched to raise $1 million for the Ray Miller Scarlet and Cream Singers Endowment fund.

Named after the founding and still-active director of the Scarlet and Cream Singers, this endowment will successfully ensure that the Scarlet and Cream program will continue to be a valuable asset to the Nebraska Alumni Association, the University of Nebraska, and the state of Nebraska and beyond.

The face of the group has changed over the years, as well as much of the music and the methods in which we present our programs, but the need for support is as strong as ever. The Nebraska Alumni Association has proudly supported this program for 35 years, and with your assistance, we would like to ensure the continued success of the Scarlet and Cream legacy.

The alumni association provides funding for costumes, travel, food, lodging, props, music and instrumental supplies, sound-and-lighting equipment, advertising and administrative costs, choreographers, and a yearly scholarship for each member of the ensemble. Your gift will provide added support in each of these areas and will allow students the continued opportunity to learn, grow, perform and share their talents on behalf of the university and the alumni association.

Anyone interested in providing a donation to secure the future and legacy of the Scarlet and Cream program is asked to consider a gift of $500, $250, $100 or even $50. Your donation is 100 percent tax-deductible, and donations may be shared as a one-time only gift or as an annual contribution for the duration of this five-year campaign. If your business or corporation wishes to match your personal donation(s), this is an option for one-time only or annual gifts throughout the five-year campaign as well.
