PURPOSE
To recognize undergraduate students who have shown exceptional leadership capabilities through energetic participation in student activities, commendable classroom performance, and the personal integrity, perseverance and sense of humor demonstrated by those who successfully lead their peers.

ELIGIBILITY

Undergraduate students who have achieved Junior standing or higher, with a minimum grade point average of 2.5 are eligible for consideration.

NOMINATIONS

Confidential nominations will be accepted by the student awards committee from any member of the Alumni Association staff. There are no limitations on the number of nominations.

Nominations shall be solicited yearly. Nominations shall be submitted in writing to the alumni awards committee, and must not exceed four type-written pages.

SELECTION
The Alumni Association Student Awards Committee will screen and recommend to the Alumni Association Board of Directors recipients based upon the following:
  • A record of leadership roles within student and off-campus organizations and activities by the nominee.
  • Evidence of personal integrity, perseverance and a sense of humor.
  • Nominee must maintain at least a 2.5 cumulative grade point average.
  • Nominee must be an undergraduate of junior or senior standing.

No more than one student leader shall be selected for this award per year.

DEADLINE
Nominations are due March 3, 2008. Please print the nomination form and mail to the Alice Kadavy; 1520 R Street; PO Box 80129; Lincoln, NE 68501-0129. Nominations can also be submitted electronically to Alice Kadavy.

FREQUENCY
Awards shall be presented annually at the Alumni Association's award banquet.

AWARD
The recipient shall receive a $250 stipend and an inscribed plaque. The names of award recipients will be displayed on a permanent plaque in the Wick Alumni Center.
