Today, there are more than 175,000 University of Nebraska alumni, living across the country and around the world, working in industries from medicine to fine arts; from agriculture to manufacturing. And though alumni share a love for the university, their interests vary. That's why the Nebraska Alumni Association offers a wide range of programs and events. Through our programs, we work to connect and engage our diverse alumni base with those things at the university about which they feel most passionate.

A few of our many programs and events:

• Cather Circle - Goes beyond traditional mentoring programs, promoting the growth and education of women and creating a nationwide network of women leaders with university ties.

• Husker Travel and Huddles - Offers Husker fans ticket and tour options for bowl games and marquis road games, making travel easy and fun.

• Big Red Weekend - Gives alumni a chance to reconnect with UNL through a weekend of reunions, special tours, open houses, athletic contests and performances across campus.

• Alumni Masters Week - Brings distinguished alumni back to campus to help students understand various ways to apply formal education to successful careers.

• Nebraska Legacy Program - Helps alumni introduce their children and grandchildren to the university. Legacies will receive remembrances on selected birthdays and information about UNL, including Legacy Scholarship information.

• Postcards of Pride - Allows alumni to participate in the student recruitment process by sharing experiences and lessons with prospective students.

• Volunteer Opportunity Bank - Helps willing alumni and friends find volunteer opportunities that support UNL.

The Nebraska Alumni Association's traditional award-winning print publications and emerging online tools keep alumni connected to the university – and each other. 

A few of our many publications and digital media:

• Nebraska Magazine - Association members receive Nebraska Magazine quarterly. This 64-page, full-color magazine keeps alumni updated on university events, research and personalities, and association activities. Some of the most popular features are stories of successful alumni.

• Good NUz - 135,000 alumni receive the Good NUz magazine twice a year. This 32-page tabloid provides a digest of "good news" about the university – including college news, cultural affiliates, campus recreation, admissions and more - plus alumni association updates.

• HuskerAlum.org - We've focused on supplementing our print publications with a stronger online presence. Our re-designed website offers members access to an online directory of alumni.

• LinkedIn.com - The Official University of Nebraska-Lincoln Alumni Association Group is growing, and fast. With more than 5,700 members, we're one of the largest existing LinkedIn groups.

• Facebook - The University of Nebraska Alumni fan page shares news about the university, connects alumni and engages fans and supporters in a meaningful way.
  

• eNUz - This electronic monthly digest of alumni and university news items is sent to all alumni for whom we have valid e-mail addresses.

• Young Alumni NUz - This electronic monthly digest goes out bi-monthly to graduates of the past five years.
  

Your contribution to this fund will help us manage rising costs for printing and mailing, and further develop online offerings for alumni.

Transitioning to campus life can be both difficult and exciting for freshmen and other new students. New friends, classes, experiences and challenges await undergraduates, many of them leaving home for the first time. At the Nebraska Alumni Association, our goal is to support these students by helping them experience campus life to the fullest, so that they, like thousands of other UNL alumni, will think of their college years as some of the best of their lives.

The centerpiece of our student programs is the Scarlet Guard. The organization is open to all students and is governed by a 35-member student board of directors. Previously known as Student Alumni Association, Scarlet Guard's mission is to serve as the guardian of UNL traditions that enrich the student experience. All Scarlet Guard members receive the exclusive Cornhusker Compass, a personalized yearbook to engage students with campus history, landmarks and collegiate rites of passage (i.e. "Touching the bottom of the foot of Morrill Hall's mammoth, Archie").

Through additional programs and events, Scarlet Guard offers students many opportunities to make friends and gain mentors. Members can also participate in regular meetings and Third Thursday Socials; study at the Wick Alumni Center during finals week; connect with alumni during Master's Week and Homecoming activities or grow leadership skills with participation in Cather Circle.

Your contribution to this fund will help us expand mentoring and leadership development opportunities for students.

The Wick Alumni Center is home to the Nebraska Alumni Association and hosts hundreds of campus activities and special events every year. Individual colleges, athletic teams, student organizations and alumni association chapters are among the many groups who routinely take advantage of the stunning Pascale Great Hall, classic Dana Board Room and other spaces.

Our doors are also open to the community. The Wick Alumni Center is a popular pick among Lincoln-area residents for weddings, dinners, seminars, parties, etc.

The Wick Alumni Center opened in 1985, and maintenance and restoration needs continue to grow. Your contribution to this fund will help us preserve this vital resource for the community, the campus and future generations of Huskers.
